Falls Church’s 43rd annual Memorial Day Parade and Festival will take over the City Hall grounds at 300 Park Ave. on Monday, May 26, with activities scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will proceed rain or shine.
The day will feature a remembrance ceremony, parade, amusement rides, inflatables, pony rides, live music and more than 70 booths operated by food vendors, artisans, local businesses and civic organizations.
Some nearby streets will close beginning at 5 a.m. Visitors should review road closures and parking options before arriving.
The Community Center will remain closed throughout the festivities because of an ongoing HVAC construction project. Portable restrooms will be available behind City Hall.
Festival schedule
The free Beyer 3K Fun Run begins at 9 a.m. at Great Falls and Little Falls streets and finishes on Little Falls Street. Registration is not required. Bicycles, scooters and rollerblades are prohibited.
Music will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the main stage at Park Avenue and Little Falls Street. Local cover band Road Street Avenue will perform at 9:15 a.m. and noon.
At 11 a.m., the Greater Falls Church Veterans Council will host a Memorial Day ceremony at the Veterans Memorial outside the Community Center. Virginia Del. Marcus B. Simon, an officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, will deliver the keynote address.
An Inova blood drive will operate outside the Community Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The parade begins at 2 p.m. on Park Avenue between North West and Little Falls streets. The Quantico Marine Corps Band and 2025 grand marshal Brown’s Hardware will lead the procession. “Best of” trophies will be presented afterward.
