Vienna Theatre Company will open Neil Simon’s “The Sunshine Boys” at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at the Vienna Community Center.
The comedy follows a theatrical agent attempting to reunite his elderly uncle, Willie, with Al, his longtime stage partner. Once a famous variety-show duo, the two men have not spoken in 12 years.
Their proposed appearance on a “History of Comedy” television special revives old memories, personality clashes and unresolved grievances. Willie’s nephew must try to repair the fractured partnership before the former stars can return to the screen.
Evening performances begin at 8 p.m. Jan. 23-24, Jan. 30-31 and Feb. 6-7. Matinees are scheduled for 2 p.m. Feb. 1 and Feb. 8.
Tickets cost $16 and are available online or in person at the Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry St. SE in Vienna. Tickets are nonrefundable and cannot be transferred. The production is recommended for audiences ages 13 and older.
