Five Iron Golf plans to open its first Virginia location at Capital One Center in Tysons in early 2027, joining a wave of indoor-golf venues arriving in Northern Virginia.

The approximately 17,000-square-foot venue will span two floors of the office tower at 1675 Capital One Drive, near the McLean Metro station and Capital One Hall. It will feature Trackman golf simulators, a full-service restaurant and bar, and an outdoor terrace.

TheOwen Holdings, the franchise group led by managing members Evan and Nicole Klatt, is bringing Five Iron Golf to the Washington-area market. “As we set out to bring the Five Iron brand to Northern Virginia, Capital One Center was exactly the kind of destination we had in mind for a flagship location — a place to build the brand in this market for the long term,” the Klatts said in a statement.

Five Iron Golf began in 2017 in New York City’s Flatiron District and has since expanded to other East Coast markets. The company opened a Washington, D.C., location in Penn Quarter in 2021 and has operated a Baltimore venue since 2019.

Capital One is positioning the venue as part of its broader entertainment and recreation strategy for the mixed-use center. “Experiential retailers are a key part of our entertainment and recreation strategy,” said Erin Mical, Capital One’s vice president of Global Workplace Services. “Five Iron will offer the high-energy atmosphere and vibrant gathering place that our associates and community are looking for.”

The Klatt’s second quoted statement notes that the location will appeal to both golfers and non-golfers. “This location gives us a built-in community of golfers and non-golfers looking for a new way to spend an evening or a weekend,” they said.

Five Iron’s Tysons arrival adds to growing indoor-golf competition in the region. Back Nine Golf has locations in Fairfax City and Reston Station, NextVision Golf Club operates in Merrifield, and CitySwing opened at Reston Town Center in 2024. Capital One Hall also hosts Perch Putt, an outdoor miniature-golf course on its 11th-floor rooftop.

At Capital One Center, Five Iron will join other upcoming tenants including Stellina Pizzeria, Ometeo, and La Omri.
