Sasha Hendrickson has built a mortgage career around helping clients navigate complicated financial decisions across languages and cultures.
Hendrickson serves as a team lead, mortgage loan officer and director of business development at Buckingham Mortgage in Tysons. Licensed under NMLS No. 2574246, she works with first-time buyers, real estate investors, diplomats and international clients, including borrowers facing unusual financial circumstances or diplomatic-immunity considerations.
She speaks five languages and holds a marketing degree and an Executive MBA. Before entering American real estate finance, Hendrickson led a prominent Slovenian nonprofit focused on economic growth and leadership development. Her more than 15 years of experience also span government contracting, real estate, publishing and editorial leadership for people-management publications.
Hendrickson initially joined Buckingham Mortgage as director of business development, seeking to make the borrowing process clearer, more personal and less overwhelming. Her work has also emphasized diversity, inclusion and cross-cultural cooperation.
Her honors and leadership roles include serving as an Ambassador of Diversity for a European Union initiative, receiving a Woman of Excellence Award from the Women Economic Forum and becoming president of the American-Slovenian Club in Washington, D.C.
“At the end of the day, this is about people trusting us during an important moment in their lives—and we take that seriously,” Hendrickson said.
Buckingham Mortgage is a family-owned company established in 1994 and based in Tysons. Led by President Yousuf Hanif and Chief Financial Officer Kamran Hanif, the company says it has helped more than 100,000 families and investors pursue homeownership.
The BBB-accredited lender is licensed in 11 states, while its team collectively speaks as many as 20 languages. Its lending options include FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, Non-QM, DSCR, construction, portfolio and reverse mortgages, along with commercial financing.
Hendrickson describes her colleagues as a “second family” and credits the company’s collaborative culture with supporting its relationship-focused approach to lending.
