Flint Hill School’s growing connection to college football delivered results this past season, with several recent graduates joining college rosters and two freshmen contributing for Division I programs.

University of Richmond running back Andrew King appeared in 11 games, rushing 46 times for 267 yards—the third-highest total on the team—and two touchdowns. He also caught six passes for 75 yards and recorded a season-long 63-yard run.

King’s biggest performance came against North Carolina A&T State University, when he gained 100 yards on six carries.

The 5-foot-8, 185-pound back was a second-team Division I private-school all-state selection during his senior year at Flint Hill.

“He was one of the strongest players we’ve had—he ran so hard and loved contact,” Flint Hill coach Kirk Peterson said.

Virginia Tech cornerback Josh Clarke played in two games as a freshman, including a bowl matchup, and made two tackles.

The 6-foot-2 Clarke earned first-team all-state honors on both sides of the ball during his final Flint Hill season, playing wide receiver and defensive back.

“Josh Clarke is one of the best players we have had. He can play any position,” Peterson said.

Another Flint Hill graduate, Caleb Chijoke Ihegihu, was a freshman linebacker for Columbia University as the Lions shared the Ivy League championship.

Chijoke Ihegihu also excelled in basketball and track and field at Flint Hill, where he established multiple school records.

“He was maybe the best athlete we had here,” Peterson said.

The pipeline is set to continue with at least four players from Flint Hill’s latest team committed to college programs.

Wide receivers and defensive backs Kobe Davis and Victor McNeal will join Division I Hampton University and the United States Military Academy, respectively. Davis earned second-team all-state honors at defensive back this past season, while McNeal was a second-team all-state wide receiver.

Two-way lineman Luke Richardson will play for Division III Tufts University in Massachusetts. Damian Snell, who filled multiple positions at Flint Hill, will continue at Division III Kenyon College in Ohio.

First-team all-state quarterback Caleb West has not yet decided where he will play college football.
