Four people were arrested after Fairfax County police raided multiple rooms at a Mount Vernon motel as part of a three-month drug investigation.
Officers served a search warrant at the Red Carpet Inn in the 8200 block of Richmond Highway around 5 a.m. on April 17. The operation involved SWAT, K-9 teams, drones, narcotics investigators and several patrol and intelligence units.
Police said investigators suspected a narcotics distribution operation was using several rooms at the motel. The drugs were primarily sold to people known to the suspects who traveled there from outside the property.
During the search, officers recovered an illegally possessed firearm, more than 23 grams of suspected cocaine, 2 grams of fentanyl, 40 Xanax pills and approximately $1,500 in cash.
Taevon Moore, 33, of D.C., was charged with multiple felonies, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and drug distribution while possessing a firearm. He was held without bond.
Elizabeth Pierce, 66, of Alexandria, and Shawn Banks, 36, also of Alexandria, face drug distribution-related charges. Pierce was released on a $2,000 bond, while Banks was released on a $1,000 bond.
Jose Gomez, 28, of Alexandria, was arrested on a probation violation warrant and later released on an unsecured bond.
