The remainder of 2026 promises major releases for players across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. From a revived Nintendo classic to the long-awaited return of Grand Theft Auto, four titles headline the calendar.
Star Fox — June 25
Arriving on Switch 2, the remake of Star Fox 64 brings the Nintendo favorite to a new generation. Its campaign follows Star McCloud on a mission through space to prevent the mad scientist Andross from destroying the Lylat System.
A 4-vs-4 battle mode will offer both online and local multiplayer. The game is also expected to support Nintendo Game Chat, the Joy-Con 2’s mouse mode and the official Nintendo 64 wireless controller.
Phantom Blade Zero — September 9
Phantom Blade Zero launches for PlayStation 5 and PC with the story of an elite assassin framed for killing the leader of his organization. He is subsequently given 66 years to live.
The action title combines a “Kung Fu Punk” style with a steampunk setting and features more than 20 weapon styles. Its “Souls Like” elements include different nonplayer characters during each encounter instead of repeatedly returning enemies. Multiple difficulty levels are expected to make the experience accessible to casual and hardcore players alike.
Marvel’s Wolverine — September 15
Insomniac follows its successful Marvel’s Spider-Man games with a single-player action adventure centered on Wolverine. The PlayStation 5 release sends the character on a search for answers about his troubled past.
Mystique, Omega Red and the Reavers will also appear, expanding the lineup beyond the clawed hero.
Grand Theft Auto VI — November 19
After a 12-year wait, the Grand Theft Auto franchise returns on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The new map is described as twice the size of the one in Grand Theft Auto V.
Players will explore Vice City, Leonidas Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. Large interior spaces, lifelike phones and more realistic law enforcement are also expected to deepen the game’s sprawling world.
