Framebridge will open its newest custom framing shop at McLean’s Chesterbrook Shopping Center at 10 a.m. Saturday, expanding a retail lineup that is changing rapidly amid the center’s ongoing renovation.

The 694-square-foot store at 6234 Old Dominion Drive sits between J. McLaughlin and Call Your Mother. Grand-opening visitors can receive archival prints of Great Falls Park to have framed.

The location is Framebridge’s 29th store overall and its eighth in the Washington, D.C., region. Its only other Fairfax County shop is in Merrifield’s Mosaic District.

Founded in 2014 by DMV resident Susan Tynan, Framebridge began online after Tynan became frustrated with a traditional custom-framing process she found costly, slow and intimidating. The company opened its first physical store in Washington in 2019 and has since expanded into brick-and-mortar locations across 13 states and the District.

The McLean shop includes a gallery wall offering framing inspiration through local artwork and regional memorabilia. Displayed pieces include a Virginia pennant, two Washington Nationals tickets, a Dave Matthews Band album, a completed Shenandoah National Park puzzle and an Alexander Ovechkin Washington Capitals jersey.

Customers can consult with the store’s design team, see project pricing before work begins and preview the finished design before ordering. Frames are handcrafted with materials including acid-free mounting supplies, UV-protective acrylic and solid hardwood. Same-day framing for digital photos is also available through the company’s Gift and Go collection.

The opening comes as Chesterbrook undergoes a renovation expected to conclude this summer. Recent additions include Apricot Lane, SkinSprint, Bluemercury and Call Your Mother’s permanent deli.

Other businesses slated to arrive in 2025 include fashion retailer Sassanova, membership-based pet clinic Small Door Veterinary and Sorn Thai restaurant.
