The Rotary Club of Great Falls installed its 2025-2026 officers and recognized two community-minded members during a June 19 ceremony at the Great Falls Grange.
Tom Tucker was named Citizen of the Year for his extensive volunteer work. He supports Arts of Great Falls, the Great Falls Grange Foundation and Lift Me Up, a therapeutic horseback-riding center in Great Falls. He also volunteers with Legacy Farms in Loudoun County, which offers job training and opportunities for neurodivergent individuals.
“I must admit that I was caught off guard receiving this recognition,” Tucker said. “It is an honor to take part in giving back to others.”
The club named IB Barghout its Rotarian of the Year. Barghout has organized social activities credited with encouraging greater participation and building stronger friendships among members.
“It has been a lot of fun to be engaged with such a group of dedicated Rotarians in meaningful fellowship and service above self,” Barghout said.
Area Gov. Michael Broyles administered the oath of office to incoming President Steve Flannery and the club’s selected board members.
“We will all be in great hands under Steve’s leadership,” immediate past president June Kelly said.
