A 25-year-old Herndon man remains at large after allegedly kidnapping someone he knew, stealing that person’s car and leading police on a chase across Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland.
Herndon police responded to a reported domestic situation in the 1000 block of Knight Lane around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Investigators said an altercation occurred inside a home before the suspect left prior to officers’ arrival.
The man allegedly forced the victim to leave with him and fled in the victim’s vehicle. Officers from several agencies pursued the car from Virginia through the District and into Maryland.
Police later found the vehicle and the alleged kidnapping victim in Prince George’s County. The victim is safe, authorities said.
The suspect remains on the run and faces multiple charges, including robbery, assault and reckless driving.
