After a month-long permitting delay, Hershey Super Sweet Adventure will begin welcoming guests at Tysons Corner Center on Friday, April 10, before celebrating its official grand opening on April 24.
The 17,751-square-foot attraction occupies a first-floor storefront near Macy’s. It had been scheduled to open March 6, but the debut was postponed while permits were finalized. Customers who bought tickets for the original opening period were contacted and offered refunds or new dates.
Created by The Hershey Company and Original X Productions, the interactive experience combines hands-on games and multisensory activities inspired by Hershey’s best-known candy brands. Original X has also developed entertainment pop-ups based on “Friends,” “The Office” and the Harry Potter franchise.
The concept first opened in Chicago in fall 2024. Tysons Corner Center will host its East Coast debut.
Visitors can explore a candy bar, experiment at flavor intensification and combination stations, and visit a Twistology Hub devoted to Twizzlers. The Tysons location will also introduce features not offered in Chicago, including a Bubble Yum Bubble Gum experience and a station where guests can personalize wrappers for Hershey’s milk chocolate bars.
The customization station will be inside a retail shop carrying limited-edition merchandise and collectibles. The store will be open to all mall shoppers, including those without attraction tickets.
Preview and regular-admission tickets are on sale. Prices start at $24.99 on Fridays and weekends and $19.99 during the rest of the week. The attraction appears set to remain closed on most Tuesdays. Bundles and party packages are available as well.
Mall owner Macerich has called the Hershey experience the type of family-focused attraction it wants to add as Tysons Corner Center expands its emphasis on entertainment-oriented retail.
Other concepts planned or underway at the mall include a Pop Mart store from the company behind Labubu and a more interactive Dick’s Sporting Goods location.
Signs have also gone up for a Sloomoo Institute do-it-yourself slime bar in the former Paul Mitchell Beauty School space near Nordstrom. Plans call for a two-level children’s slime museum with a retail store, though an opening date has not been announced.
