Fairfax County transportation officials will hold a virtual public meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026, to gather feedback on a proposed walkway along Idylwood Road.
The project would improve pedestrian and bicycle access on the northwest side of Idylwood Road between Idylwood Court and Hillside Drive.
Plans call for an asphalt walkway at least 8 feet wide, separated from the road by a 3.5-foot buffer. The proposal also includes curb and gutter work and eight new ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Officials will present the planned improvements, project schedule and anticipated impacts during the meeting. The public will be able to review project information and submit comments.
Participants may join through Microsoft Teams using meeting ID 249 716 239 792 25 and passcode 3cD3X3UW. They may also call 571-429-5982 and enter phone conference ID 478 533 915#.
An online survey will accept additional feedback after the meeting through April 2, 2026.
