Jennifer Hollingsworth, a 39-year-old Fredericksburg resident, died July 23 after the motorcycle she was riding collided with an SUV at Ox Road and Chapel Road in Fairfax Station, according to Fairfax County police.
Hollingsworth was traveling north on Ox Road on a 2025 Suzuki GSXR 750 when it collided with a 2021 Buick Enclave. Police said the Buick was turning left from southbound Ox Road onto eastbound Chapel Road.
Hollingsworth was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Buick was not injured.
The Fairfax County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit continued investigating the circumstances of the collision. Police said the preliminary investigation did not indicate that alcohol was a factor for the Buick driver, but possible speed and alcohol involvement by the motorcyclist remained under investigation.
“Preliminary, alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash for the driver of the Buick. Speed and alcohol for the rider of the motorcycle remain under investigation,” the department said.
A friend established a GoFundMe campaign to help Hollingsworth’s family with funeral and memorial expenses. FFXnow reported that Hollingsworth’s mother, the campaign’s designated recipient, confirmed its authenticity. At the time of that report, the fundraiser had collected more than $12,000 toward a $30,000 goal.
The fundraiser described Hollingsworth as the mother of three children. “Jennifer was a loving mother to three beautiful children who were the center of her world,” the page said.
Kate Johnston, who promoted the fundraiser, wrote: “Please consider donating toward lending some financial stability to my little cousins as they learn to navigate life without their mom.”
The crash came amid a year of fatal roadway collisions in Fairfax County. Preliminary state data cited in the article indicated that at least 24 people had died on county roads in 2026 by the time of publication. Hollingsworth was identified as apparently the fifth motorcyclist killed in a Fairfax County crash this year.
The four earlier reported motorcyclist deaths occurred on I-495 on April 15, Route 29 in Fair Lakes on May 19, Richmond Highway in Lorton on June 17 and Braddock Road on June 29.
The police department’s annual Road Shark campaign, which targets reckless driving behavior, was scheduled to begin its third wave of increased enforcement on Aug. 10.
