Tucked behind a family-owned halal market, Loaded has become a social media draw, attracting lines of customers with customizable fries, oversized potatoes and fresh-tasting lemonades.
The food truck gained attention on TikTok and Instagram for letting customers build their own meals with halal meats, mac and cheese, signature sauce and other toppings. Its standout offerings are the loaded potatoes and fries.
A $16.50 order of Cajun fries topped with cheese sauce, mac and cheese, hot dogs, chicken, Loaded sauce, jalapeños and Hot Cheetos earned an 8.7 out of 10. The well-seasoned fries and savory halal meats formed a strong base, while the jalapeños and chips supplied welcome crunch. The combination of mac and cheese and cheese sauce was excessive but flavorful.
The fries are best eaten immediately. They become soggy when reheated, and their richness makes the large serving better suited for sharing.
The $20 loaded potato scored 9 out of 10. Butter, mac and cheese, chicken, bacon bits, Loaded sauce, jalapeños and crispy onions turned the potato into the menu’s most filling option. Generous portions of seasoned chicken paired especially well with the jalapeños, while crispy onions added texture to an otherwise soft dish.
Like the fries, the potato does not reheat well. Finishing it fresh or splitting the substantial portion with someone else is the better approach.
Both $8.50 lemonades received perfect scores. The strawberry version blended lemon with a sweet strawberry syrup or sauce, providing a refreshing match for the fries. The mango lemonade delivered an especially bright fruit flavor and offered a welcome contrast to the starchy, heavily seasoned potato.
Loaded earned a 9 out of 10 overall for its large portions, strong seasoning and memorable lemonades.
