NAJA Mediterranean is launching weekend brunch at the Mosaic District, bringing Lebanese breakfast staple manoushe to a menu filled with savory scrambles, mezze, sweet dishes and cocktails.

Restaurateur Tariq Alaeddin’s eatery will host its first Saturday brunch at 2911 District Avenue in Merrifield. Brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.

Manoushe, the Levantine flatbread familiar to Alaeddin and Chef Ibrahim Hamad from their childhoods in Lebanon, anchors the new menu. Along with traditional preparations, NAJA will serve variations such as the Garden, topped with whipped labneh, tomato, cucumber and mint, and the NAJA Manoushe with halloumi, pesto, tomato and za’atar.

Other savory choices include a scramble with spiced sujuk sausage and a grilled halloumi wrap filled with fresh vegetables and herbs. The NAJA Breakfast Sandwich layers scrambled eggs, melted cheese, caramelized onions and chives on buttered brioche.

Several lunch and dinner favorites will also appear during brunch, including herb falafel, fattoush and a chicken shawarma wrap. Diners can order a selection of dips featuring labneh with za’atar, havuc and muhammara.

For a sweeter start, the restaurant is offering brioche French toast with fig jam and whipped labneh, a Greek yogurt fruit parfait, and warm dates with labneh, honey, toasted pistachios, flaky salt and bread for dipping.

The cocktail list ranges from mimosas and espresso martinis to a za’atar bloody mary. An apricot spritz combines apricot liqueur and nectar with sparkling wine and soda water.

Reservations are available through OpenTable.

NAJA opened in September after Kirby Club’s previous owner, Rose Previte, transferred the business to Alaeddin, a longtime member of the restaurant’s team. He renamed it in honor of his Lebanese grandmother and has continued serving Mediterranean dishes influenced by family recipes.
