Elizabeth Dufrane is making a major impact at the next level, leading Roger Williams University in three statistical categories while ranking second on the team in scoring.
The McLean High School graduate has started at guard for the Division III Hawks through the first 13 games of her senior season. She is averaging 11 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while totaling a team-high 50 assists, 22 steals and 14 blocked shots. She has also made 15 three-pointers.
Dufrane’s strongest performance included 22 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and four blocks.
Within the Conference of New England, she ranks 13th in scoring per game, third in assists, fourth in blocks and 17th in steals.
Her expanded role follows a season in which she appeared in 18 games and made one start for Roger Williams. She averaged 7.8 points while collecting 66 rebounds and 35 assists.
Before joining the Hawks, Dufrane played two seasons at the University of Mary Washington and scored 295 points. Through 13 games this season, she has accumulated 578 points during her college career.
Dufrane began college at Drexel University as a member of its Division I women’s basketball team but did not play during her freshman season.
At McLean, she scored 1,562 points to become the career leader across both the Highlanders’ girls and boys basketball programs. She was named Liberty District and 6D North Region Player of the Year as a senior.
