Metro is considering a $93 million-plus overhaul of its aging fare-vending system, while drivers in Tysons face overnight Dulles Toll Road closures this weekend.
The Metro board is scheduled to vote Thursday on a proposal to purchase and install new fare machines. Beyond selling fares, the replacements could help riders plan trips and receive service alerts.
All eastbound lanes of the Dulles Toll Road will close between Route 7 and the Capital Beltway beginning around Friday night, April 10. The nightly closures and detours will continue through Sunday night, April 12, to allow overhead sign work for the 495 NEXT project.
