Pedestrian Dies After Late-Night Crash on Richmond Highway

A 67-year-old Maryland man died after a pickup truck struck him late Friday night at a Fairfax County intersection near Woodlawn.

A 67-year-old Maryland man died after a pickup truck struck him late Friday night at a Fairfax County intersection near Woodlawn.

The crash occurred around 10:20 p.m. at Richmond Highway and Pohick Road. Investigators said Anthony Williams was crossing at the intersection when he was hit in the roadway by a Toyota Tacoma traveling north on Richmond Highway.

Williams was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later died from those injuries.

The Tacoma’s driver was not injured and remained at the scene following the collision. Fairfax County police said neither speed nor alcohol appears to have contributed to the crash.
