Fairfax County transportation officials are planning a series of pedestrian safety and connectivity upgrades along Pohick Road, covering the corridor between Route 1 and the bridge over Interstate 95.
The proposed project would add new asphalt and concrete walkway segments, helping fill gaps in the pedestrian network. Plans also call for relocating a signalized pedestrian crossing and installing curb and gutter throughout the corridor.
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation will present the proposal during a virtual community information meeting on Tuesday, May 26, at 7 p.m. The online session will cover the project’s purpose and need, the improvements under consideration, the anticipated schedule and the next steps in the process.
