A 27-year-old man faces charges in connection with burglaries at two Tysons-area restaurants more than six months apart, with alcohol taken from one business and cash stolen from the other.
Fairfax County police responded to Pupatella Pizza at 2980 District Avenue in Merrifield’s Mosaic District around 1:17 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2025. Police said someone forced open a rear door and stole alcohol from the restaurant.
Officers were called to Churasuko at 1755 Tysons Central Street at approximately 8:15 p.m. on March 1. The Japanese-Brazilian steakhouse, which opened in December on the ground floor of the Lumen Apartments in Tysons, was reportedly entered through an unsecured door. Cash was taken from the register.
Detectives identified the same man as the suspect in both cases after reviewing surveillance video and information from automated license plate readers that recorded the vehicle he allegedly used.
Police arrested the man on March 17 and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was later released after posting a $5,000 bond.
Court records list two felony breaking-and-entering charges and one misdemeanor petit larceny charge related to the Pupatella burglary.
Police described the suspect as a D.C. resident, while court records list an Arlington address.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 2 in Fairfax County General District Court.
