Fairfax County Public Schools has appointed Rhonda Honoré as assistant superintendent for Region 6, placing an experienced instructional leader over schools in the Annandale, Hayfield, and Lewis high school pyramids.
Honoré will begin the role May 4.
She currently serves as executive director of instruction for Houston Independent School District, supporting a diverse group of schools and leading districtwide work to strengthen teaching and learning.
With more than a decade of leadership experience, Honoré has focused on improving student performance, reinforcing instructional systems, and developing school leaders. She coaches principals and leadership teams while helping campuses align their goals with district priorities.
Schools under her leadership have recorded substantial academic improvement. At one high school, college and career readiness rose from 61% to 94% in a single year.
Honoré has also been recognized for building leadership pipelines, using data to guide school systems, and emphasizing equitable outcomes for students.
