A marriage strained by decades of buried memories takes center stage in the DC-area premiere of Snapshots: A Musical Scrapbook, running Feb. 12 through March 8, 2026, at Creative Cauldron Stage in Falls Church.

Written by Academy Award-winning composer Stephen Schwartz, the musical weaves together songs from Wicked, Pippin, Godspell and other works to explore love, memory and the risks of following the heart.

The story begins as Sue prepares to leave her husband, Dan. With her bags packed and a farewell note written, she enters the couple’s dusty suburban attic for one final look at their shared life. Dan unexpectedly returns early from his demanding job, and the pair find themselves surrounded by reminders—and younger versions—of who they once were.

As Sue and Dan revisit their past through a lifetime of snapshots, they begin to uncover the love that remained obscured beneath years of disappointment and routine.

Joshua and Jennifer Redford play present-day Dan and Sue. Carl L. Williams and Sally Imbriano portray the couple as young adults, Daniel and Susan, while Ben Ribler and Gretchen Midgley Kaylor appear as their grade-school counterparts, Danny and Susie.

Odette Guiterrez del Arroyo serves as dance captain and female understudy, with Cristian Bustillos as the male understudy.

Matt Conner directs the production, with Elisa Rosman as musical director and Stefan Sittig as choreographer. The creative team also includes adjunct costume designer Tessa Grippaudo, set and properties designer Margie Jervis, lighting designer Fern Middleton and stage manager Nicholas Goodman.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $50 for Tier I seating, $40 for Tier II and $25 for students. The production is recommended for ages 10 and older.

Founded by Artistic Director Laura Connors Hull in 2002, Creative Cauldron is a nonprofit performing and visual arts organization. It moved into a new theater at the Broad and Washington development after raising approximately $725,000 during a two-year capacity campaign, surpassing its original $500,000 goal. The location is expected to serve as the organization’s permanent home for the next 30 years.
