Fairfax County police have charged a 32-year-old man with second-degree murder after a woman was fatally stabbed at a Hybla Valley bus stop Monday night.
Officers responding to a community member’s 911 call around 7 p.m. found Stephanie Minter, 41, of Fredericksburg, suffering from multiple stab wounds to her upper body. She was inside a bus shelter at Richmond Highway and Arlington Drive.
Officers attempted to help Minter, but she died at the scene, Fairfax County Police Capt. Chris Cosgriff said Tuesday.
Police arrested Abdul Jalloh after responding Tuesday to a report of a suspicious person in Woodlawn. An employee at a nearby business recognized him as a person of interest in the stabbing investigation.
Investigators also linked Jalloh to a larceny reported earlier that day in Woodlawn. He was charged with petit larceny in addition to second-degree murder.
Jalloh is being held without bond and is expected to appear in court April 8.
