Sweetgreen will open its second Tysons location Tuesday, Feb. 17, bringing opening-day giveaways, local partnerships and support for a Northern Virginia food assistance nonprofit.
The fast-casual salad and bowl restaurant will occupy a 3,030-square-foot space at 8405 Leesburg Pike in Pike 7 Plaza. It is housed in a freestanding building alongside Cava and Honeygrow.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on opening day, guests can sample seasonal light bites from Sterling restaurant Local Provisions and receive plants from Falls Church business Botanologica. Sweetgreen will also donate a meal to Food for Others to help Northern Virginia residents experiencing food insecurity.
Customers can register in advance for a time slot to receive a free bowl on Friday, Feb. 13, or Saturday, Feb. 14. Sweetgreen and Botanologica will also hold a free Succulent Garden Workshop for registered guests from 6 to 7 p.m.
The restaurant’s menu includes salads, warm bowls, protein plates and sides, with some dishes changing seasonally. One seasonal offering is the Winter Harvest Bowl, made with roasted chicken, maple-glazed squash, balsamic cabbage, goat cheese, almonds, kale, wild rice and apple vinaigrette.
Sweetgreen also said feta is returning to its menu in response to customer demand.
The new restaurant will have a couple of outdoor tables for warmer weather and will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
It joins Sweetgreen’s existing Tysons Galleria restaurant and becomes the chain’s sixth Fairfax County location. The company most recently expanded in the county with a restaurant at McLean’s Chesterbrook Shopping Center last November.
