Fairfax County shoppers are worried that new 25% tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico could push grocery bills even higher. At Trader Joe’s in Idylwood, one customer expressed particular concern about the effect on lower- and middle-income households.

Elsewhere, Maryland officials say the prevalence of Virginia license plates on Baltimore streets costs the state millions of dollars. A recent Motor Vehicle Administration report sent to Gov. Wes Moore’s office found that Maryland has little power to address the issue.

Registration for Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services summer camps opens Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The county offers programs for children and teenagers at locations across Fairfax, with families encouraged to register early.

Framebridge in McLean will hold a private shopping event from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13, celebrating its recent grand opening. Customers can bring photographs, artwork and memorabilia for framing, with 10% of sales benefiting the McLean Project for the Arts.
