A teen faces a malicious wounding charge after allegedly stabbing another teen during a fight at South Lakes Village Center in Reston on Friday, March 27. Fairfax County police said the victim was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Firefighters rescued a resident Monday night after a large tree fell onto a two-story home in the 10300 block of Darby Street, trapping the occupant inside. Crews from the Fairfax County and Fairfax City fire departments entered the house and helped the resident escape without injury. Units remained at the scene afterward.
In Lorton, firefighters responded early Monday to a blaze in the 10700 block of Old Colchester Road. They arrived to find a boathouse engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading into nearby brush. No injuries were reported.
