Texas Donuts is preparing to open its fourth Northern Virginia location in Vienna, bringing its oversized pastries and Southern-style donuts to Glyndon Plaza.
Minor renovations are underway at 167 Glyndon Street SE, where storefront signs say the shop is “coming soon.” An opening date has not been announced.
Fairfax County officials have issued permits for updated kitchen equipment, including a range hood above the donut fryer. An estimated $7,500 in renovations has been proposed for the space, which has been vacant since MidnighTreats left in September.
Texas Donuts arrived in Northern Virginia in the 2000s and currently operates stores in Centreville, Lorton and Manassas. Its menu ranges from glazed and sprinkle-covered donuts to varieties topped with Fruity Pebbles cereal.
The chain also sells a croissant-donut hybrid called the croughnut, a head-sized Texas Donut, four types of croissant breakfast sandwiches and two varieties of sausage kolaches.
The Vienna shop plans to operate from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day except Tuesday.
Elsewhere in Glyndon Plaza, Blooming Spa and Nail appears set to open a salon at 155 Maple Avenue East next to Natta Thai.
Manita Music Center, which provides piano lessons and services, also recently celebrated its grand opening at 345 Maple Avenue West with a Monday ribbon-cutting ceremony.
