Three students have picked songs they say belong on summer playlists, highlighting tracks by Baby Keem, Drake and A$AP Rocky.
Junior Amir Jackson chose Baby Keem’s “Dramatic Girl,” describing its melody as happy and reminiscent of relaxing during summer break.
The upbeat track pairs Keem’s delivery with playful production, creating an easygoing mood suited to poolside lounging or driving with friends. Its lighthearted sound and catchy melody earned a rating of 4.5 out of 5.
Sophomore Tiago Studart selected Drake’s “B’s on the Table,” citing lyrics he finds motivating.
“The lyrics of this song are very motivating and they will help me improve myself over the summer,” Studart said.
The reflective, lyric-driven song combines smooth production with a bold energy centered on growth and self-improvement. Its focused tone makes it a potential summer choice for listeners seeking inspiration. The track received a 4 out of 5.
Sophomore Nahom Kidane recommended A$AP Rocky’s “Punk Rocky” for its blend of singing and rapping.
“This makes a good summer song because it has a very nice mix between singing and rapping which makes it super catchy and fun to listen to during the summer,” Kidane said.
The song shifts between rap and melodic, psychedelic vocals, while snare drums and guitars help create a bright atmosphere. Its changing flow offers a less predictable summer listen. The track was rated 4.7 out of 10.
