A Maryland man faces two felony charges after police say a parking-lot traffic dispute at Tysons Corner Center ended with a pedestrian being struck by a Chevrolet Corvette.
Fairfax County police responded to the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road at 4:28 p.m. on Dec. 23. The crash reportedly happened outside the mall’s American Girl store.
Police said the victim had been directing traffic in the parking lot when a driver began arguing about the traffic pattern. The driver then allegedly hit the pedestrian with a red Corvette and fled.
Officers quickly located the driver, who later returned to the scene. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening and has since been released.
Police identified the driver as Peter Stanley, 21, of Maryland. He was charged with malicious wounding and hit-and-run, both felonies.
Stanley was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and later released on a personal recognizance bond. Following a Dec. 27 arraignment, his preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 14 in Fairfax County General District Court.
