Tysons is welcoming a wave of new restaurants, stores and entertainment venues as its two major malls prepare for additional openings and a yearslong, $100 million redevelopment.
Recent arrivals span Vietnamese-American street food, social gaming, fashion and sweets, while Maggiano’s Little Italy is preparing to move from its longtime Tysons Galleria location.
New places to eat and play
James Beard finalist Kevin Tien opened Chao Bàn on the third floor of Tysons Galleria in March 2026. The Vietnamese-American counter concept combines street food with Louisiana Cajun influences, serving bánh mì, phở and rice platters. Its signature dish is a hot curry fried catfish bánh mì.
Level99 and Victory Brewing Taproom are now open on Level 2 of Tysons Corner Center. The 40,000-square-foot social gaming venue offers more than 50 challenges alongside a full restaurant and bar serving Detroit-style pizza. It is aimed primarily at customers ages 21 to 39.
Cha Street Food Café opened its new Tysons café format May 7 with a larger drinks menu.
Flore Café is also operating inside Sisters Thai at Capital One Center. Adapted from Vienna’s Magnolia Dessert Bar, it offers brunch, Thai-inspired gelato and Sunday afternoon high tea.
Maggiano’s prepares for a major move
Maggiano’s Little Italy is scheduled to open June 15 on Level 1 of Tysons Corner Center after nearly 30 years at Tysons Galleria.
The restaurant will occupy 17,708 square feet formerly used by Brio and La Sandia near the Coastal Flats entrance. Preview tastings are planned during the free Taste of Tysons festival on Saturday, May 16.
Sloomoo Institute, an interactive slime experience listed in the mall directory, is targeting a summer 2026 opening.
Eataly is planned for the former American Girl space at 1911 Chain Bridge Road. The project could include restaurants, cafés, a grocery section and a cooking school, though no opening date had been confirmed as of May 2026.
Retail lineup keeps expanding
Under Armour Sports House held its grand opening at Tysons Corner Center from March 26 through March 29. The location uses the company’s premium flagship format.
Women’s fashion retailer Edikted has opened on Level 2, while hands-free footwear brand Kizik is operating near Macy’s. Matcha Cafe Maiko is another recent Level 2 addition.
Hershey Super Sweet Adventure debuted April 24 and is scheduled to participate in the May 16 Taste of Tysons festival.
Pop Mart plans to open a full flagship store next to GameStop on Level 1 during the fourth quarter of 2026. Two vending kiosks are already operating, serving demand from Labubu collectors.
Dick’s House of Sport is expected to take over the former Lord & Taylor space in fall 2027. Announced in February 2026, the immersive store format is slated to feature climbing walls, golf simulators and practice areas.
Aldi is pursuing a permit for a 26,631-square-foot grocery store at 2051 Chain Bridge Road, formerly occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond. It would be the first Aldi in Tysons. About 29,000 additional square feet would be available for another tenant. County structural reviews were completed March 10, but a formal permit had not yet been issued.
Tiny’s Corner Play Café is targeting a fall 2026 opening on Level 2 of Tysons Corner Center. The roughly 3,000-square-foot play café, designed for children ages 1 to 9, is expected to include a creative studio, sensory play and a curiosity lab. Permitting is underway.
Mall redevelopment advances
Macerich is carrying out a phased, $100 million overhaul of the west end of Tysons Corner Center, with plans for a walkable district featuring luxury dining, retail and entertainment.
About $66 million is earmarked for tenant improvements, including a redesigned Apple store. The remaining investment will cover common areas and infrastructure, with portions of the project opening over several years.
At Tysons Galleria, Louis Vuitton and Cartier have used temporary third-floor locations during permanent construction work. Louis Vuitton’s new second-floor flagship, which could span two stories, is targeting late summer 2026. Cartier’s permanent location opened in early 2026.
Taste of Tysons will run from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Tysons Corner Center. More than 40 eateries are expected to offer samples at the free festival. A $30 VIP lounge will benefit Food for Others, and Risky Shenanigans will perform live music.
