Dr. Esam Abou Nahlah offers implant dentistry, full-mouth restoration and prosthodontic care at Dental Group of Tysons in McLean, serving patients throughout Northern Virginia and the broader Washington region.
A board-certified prosthodontist, Nahlah holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and a Master of Science in Oral Biology. He completed his prosthodontics specialty residency at the Medical College of Georgia, followed by esthetic training at the University of California, Los Angeles, and implant training at Loma Linda University.
Nahlah began practicing dentistry in California in 2003 and moved to Northern Virginia in 2013. He previously served as a clinical instructor at the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry.
His professional credentials include Associate Fellow status with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and fellowships with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American College of Prosthodontics. He also holds an IV sedation certificate and has privileges at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Northern Virginia’s Level 1 trauma center.

Implant, cosmetic and general dentistry
The practice provides single implants, implant-supported dentures and bridges, and All-on-4 full-arch implants. According to the practice, Nahlah has placed more than 7,000 full-mouth dental implants during his career.
Other services include full-mouth restoration, porcelain veneers, smile makeovers, teeth whitening and digital smile design. General and preventive care covers cleanings, examinations, fillings, root canals, crowns and bridges.

Technology moves more work in-house
Dental Group of Tysons uses X-Nav technology for computer-guided implant procedures. The system combines three-dimensional scans with real-time navigation to help control an implant’s position, angle and depth.
The office also offers the BLAST Protocol, short for Biostimulation-Lase-Activation-Stimulation-Technique, as part of its approach to healing after treatment.
An in-house digital laboratory allows the team to complete more of the fabrication process at the McLean office. Its equipment includes a milling machine, cone-beam computed tomography scanner, intraoral scanner and an oven used to produce zirconia and porcelain restorations.
The practice advertises same-day emergency appointments, free second opinions and a five-year warranty on cosmetic dental work, including replacement of failed components.
The Tysons-area office is at 7901 Jones Branch Drive, Suite 220, in McLean. It is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, with limited availability on Fridays.
