An 18-year-old Washington, D.C., man was arrested in Tysons after detectives investigating a reported larceny found him carrying a stolen firearm, police said.
Detectives were alerted to the incident in the 1900 block of Chain Bridge Road at 6:42 p.m. on Nov. 28. Loss prevention officers reported seeing a suspect conceal merchandise and leave before he could be apprehended.
Detectives later took Makio Smith into custody and found a firearm in his possession. Police confirmed the weapon had been stolen from Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Smith was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, a concealed weapon violation, grand larceny, petit larceny, larceny with intent to distribute, conspiracy to commit a felony and felony facemask.
He was ordered held without bond.
