Capital One Center is launching a month of cherry blossom-themed dining, drinks, entertainment and outdoor recreation in Tysons, culminating in a major Easter celebration on Saturday, April 4.
“Capital One Center in Bloom” begins in March and continues through April, bringing seasonal specials and photo opportunities to businesses throughout the 35-acre development near the McLean Metro station.
The centerpiece is Easter at Capital One Center, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 4. A hunt featuring 3,000 eggs will take over the Great Lawn at The Perch, Capital One Center’s sky park 11 stories above Tysons.
The rooftop festivities will also include goat yoga, miniature golf, food trucks, a paint-and-sip session with mimosas, Starr Hill craft beer, an Easter Bunny meet-and-greet and adoptable puppies from Wolf Trap Animal Rescue.
At street level, a Color Fun Run will open the celebration, while a petting zoo featuring local farm animals will be set up at Metro Park, the new plaza beside the McLean Metro station. Other attractions will include complimentary express manicures from Nothing in Between and a Flore Cafe pop-up serving hot chocolate, coffee and artisan gelato.
Capital One Hall will add three family performances of “Dog Man: The Musical” to the weekend schedule. Shows are set for 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, and 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4.
Cherry blossom menus arrive across Tysons
Restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues around Capital One Center are rolling out limited-time spring offerings.
Capital One Hall will serve the Capital Cherry, a cocktail made with rum, Luxardo, lime, simple syrup, cherry and coconut puree. Nothing in Between’s Tysons studio will offer spring and cherry blossom nail art by reservation.
Flore Cafe is marking its first anniversary with “Flore in Bloom,” a 14-course high tea priced at $89. The prepaid experience combines European pastry techniques with Japanese-inspired “mystery bites.” Sisters Tysons will introduce the Pink Kimono, made with Haku Vodka and sakura syrup, through April 12.
The Watermark Hotel is offering discounted “Stay in Bloom” overnight packages featuring seasonal decorations and a spring atmosphere.
At Wren Tysons, specials available from March 16 through April 5 will include a Hanami Bento Box with king salmon and ikura chirashi, Tokyo Chicken, mixed greens and a mochi doughnut. Guests can pair it with the Fresh Start cocktail.
The hidden Naisho Room will mark the season during the same period with dishes such as a kaki and mozuku shooter and sakura masu nigiri, along with rare Japanese spirits. Featured drinks will include the Sakura Whisper, made with sakura blossom-infused Roku Gin and lemon juice, and the Toki Black Highball.
On April 1, the lounge will hold a Japanese 1980s pop turntable listening event from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dinner service will feature cherry blossom decorations and samples of seasonal House of Suntory cocktails. Reservations are required and open March 11.
Stellina Tysons will serve a Cherry Blossom Negroni and Cherry Blossom Spritz throughout the season.
Outdoor attractions return
Perch Putt, the 18-hole miniature golf course at The Perch, is scheduled to reopen at the end of March following its winter closure. The elevated attraction also features food trucks and a tiki bar.
Baseball has already returned to Capital One Park, the home field for Georgetown and Marymount universities and the Potomac League. The family-friendly stadium hosts more than 200 games each year, with free admission for children younger than 12 and seniors.
Capital One Center also plans to open four pickleball courts covering more than 8,000 square feet at Metro Park. An opening date has not yet been announced.
