Vienna’s property tax rate will remain unchanged for a 13th consecutive year, but homeowners will still pay more as rising assessments push the average annual bill up by $155.
The Town Council adopted a balanced $55.5 million budget for fiscal year 2026 during its regular meeting Monday, May 19. The spending plan, which takes effect July 1, 2025, is 3.2% larger than the current budget as the town manages inflation-related pressures.
The property tax rate remains 19.5 cents per $100 of assessed value. Higher revenue tied to new construction will help cover increased operating costs.
The budget also provides compensation increases for eligible employees, eliminates one part-time position and sets aside $200,000 for future needs involving the Annex property.
Water and sewer rates will increase by 7.25%.
The council’s vote concluded a months-long budget process that included several work sessions and public hearings.
