Café Renaissance has served classical European cuisine in downtown Vienna since owner Saeed Abtahi opened the restaurant in 1994.

Located in a Glyndon Street shopping center, the restaurant emphasizes traditional fine dining with candlelit rooms, French music and fresh flowers. Its menu blends classical French cooking with Italian influences.

Signature offerings include Chateaubriand for two prepared tableside, duck confit, rack of Colorado lamb and a seafood sampler featuring shrimp, crab cake and house-made seafood ravioli. Other options include rockfish, sea bass, French onion soup, escargot, foie gras, pasta and gluten-free selections.

Desserts range from crème brûlée and profiteroles to baklava. The restaurant also serves Irish coffee tableside and maintains a wine program with an in-house sommelier available each evening. Diners may bring bottles for a corkage fee, while monthly wine dinners pair curated dishes with selected wines.

Café Renaissance holds afternoon tea on the last Saturday of each month from noon to 4 p.m. The service includes scones, open-faced filet mignon sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, smoked salmon and house-made pastries. Reservations must be made by phone, and private weekday tea bookings are also available.

Two private dining rooms host events such as board meetings, birthdays, baby showers and rehearsal dinners. The restaurant offers catering for gatherings ranging from dinners for 10 people to receptions with more than 1,000 guests. Outdoor patio seating is also available.

Café Renaissance is located at 163 Glyndon Street SE in Vienna, near Jammin Java and accessible from the Vienna and Dunn Loring Metro stations. Dinner hours are 4 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 4 to 10 p.m. on weekends.
