Vienna will begin celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday early with a free Independence Day event on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
The family-friendly festivities will run from 6 to 10 p.m. at Yeonas Park, 1319 Ross Drive SW, with live entertainment, food trucks and fireworks.
Performances will include Taiko Japanese Drums for children, a small ensemble from the Vienna Community Band and Latin pop-rock group Ocho de Bastos. Before the fireworks, Mayor Linda Colbert will deliver greetings and a Vienna Youth Players member will perform the national anthem.
The fireworks show is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from neighboring Southside Park for public safety and will be visible from Yeonas Park.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Guests may pack a picnic or purchase food and drinks from vendors offering options including barbecue and shaved ice. The Vienna Little League concession stand will also be open.
