Loved ones gathered Sunday, Feb. 23, near Richmond Highway and Buckman Road in Hybla Valley to remember Erica Tibbs, nearly a month after the 33-year-old mother was killed in a hit-and-run crash.

Tibbs’ 5-year-old son was also injured. Fairfax County police have not located the driver.

New flight restrictions are causing disruptions at Reagan National Airport. Runways now close when President Donald Trump travels to or from the White House by helicopter, affecting airline operations.

Singer Roberta Flack, who recently died, once lived in Fairfax County. Virginia Del. Paul Krizek recalled that she had lived in his neighborhood and legislative district, saying residents loved her and that her music would endure.

Trial attorney Raymond Obregon will become Fairfax General District Court’s newest judge. Obregon, who has practiced locally since 1999, was unanimously elected by the Virginia General Assembly and is scheduled to join the bench April 1.

Fairfax County detectives are asking for help identifying two suspects in a plumbing supply store burglary in Lincolnia. Officers responded to the 5600 block of General Washington Drive at 5:43 a.m. on Feb. 16.
