Kathy Tracey has spent nearly three decades watching Reston and Herndon evolve—and building a real estate business around her experience in those communities.

Tracey and her husband, Graham, moved to Reston in 1996, when Reston Town Center was still taking shape. They later raised two children in Herndon. Her local involvement has included operating a small business for more than 20 years, volunteering in schools, participating in community events and competing in area triathlons.

A Monmouth University graduate with a background in social work, Tracey applies that training to helping clients assess more than prices, bedrooms and bathrooms. Her approach considers factors such as commuting, weekend activities and the type of neighborhood that suits a client’s daily life.

Tracey and her husband co-founded Greater Reston Living, a real estate team specializing in Reston and Herndon. Its coverage includes Lake Anne, Lake Audubon, Reston Town Center and communities with distinctive architecture, including mid-century modern homes.

The team works with first-time homebuyers, sellers, relocating families and clients searching for unusual properties. Greater Reston Living says its client count has doubled annually since 2018, with much of that growth coming through relationships and referrals.

Tracey received the Jim & Karen Cleveland Partnership Award from the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington and later served on the YMCA Reston Board of Directors. Keller Williams has also recognized her for leadership and culture, and she served as a regional Cultural Ambassador.

Beyond real estate, Tracey remains involved with charities, community initiatives and organizations including the YMCA, continuing a connection to Northern Virginia that began long before she entered the housing business.
